Having become famous in the 1960s, when the stars of the star system, nobles and aristocrats began to populate this charming resort to enjoy its exclusive parties and fantastic scenery, the resort of Portofino has remained unchanged over time, beautiful to live as well as to see.
But the true soul of Portofino is not exhausted among yachts and socialites. To experience and understand it fully, one must go back to its origins as an ancient fishing village, with narrow streets and colorful little houses, intricate streets and small squares with smooth pebbles. Complex and simple at the same time, Portofino represents a true gem overlooking the sea. To reach Portofino, you can land at Genoa airport, 85 kilometers away, or at Pisa airport, 120 kilometers away. There is no station, but you can get there by getting off at the station in S. Margherita Ligure and from there travel to Portofino by bus (there are runs every 20 minutes), by cab, or for those who want to walk as well, with a nice walk of just under an hour and a half.
